The original name of Letná meant „good spot in the sun.“ Letná is an area of Prague 7, whose territory can be defined by the Vltava river on the south and the Stromovka park on the north. The history of Letná dates back to 1261, when the king Premysl Otakar II. held a coronation feast here. The Emperor Rudolph II. was to supply the pond in the Royal Deer Park (today called Stromovka park).
