Prague 2

The city district of Prague 2 includes within its borders Vyšehrad and parts of the New Town and Vinohrady. Prague 2 is the smallest of all districts. It is still located in the city center but further away from the rush of tourists which ensures a calmer environment for those who are looking to stay permanently in a prestigious area of Prague.

Prague 2 Locations:

  • Vyšehrad
  • New Town [Nové město]
  • Vinohrady

Vyšehrad

Vyšehrad is mostly composed of the large historical complex overlooking the Vltava river. It is a nice attraction located on a steep hill a bit outside the inner city of Prague. Within the complex we can find the second largest cathedral in Prague, the Basilica of St Peter and St Paul, the Vyšehrad Cemetery which is the final resting place of many famous Czech composers, artists, sculptors, writers, and more. One of the oldest buildings in Prague, the Rotunda of St Martin from the 11th century, can also be found here. There are numerous parks within this complex, so it is the perfect place to visit for an afternoon picnic. It is without doubt one of the most romantic sites in Prague thanks to many quiet spots in the park where you can enjoy the beautiful view and the serenity around you. Outside the complex is a small and quiet residential area. The international preschool Vyšehrad Monsters resides here.

New Town [Nové město]

The New Town that belongs to Prague 2 is perfect for those who want to stay close to the city center but not in the main attractions. If you indulge in panoramic views of the city, do not hesitate to buy a property here, as you will have a wonderful view of the Prague castle and the Vltava river. There is nothing more satisfying than watching the sunrise or sunset from Náplavka which is located on the Rašín waterfront near the Palacký bridge. Náplavka is also famous for its farmers market. You will be thrilled by the atmosphere and the wide offer of products: homemade bread, all types of meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, moravian wine and more. Apart from Náplavka, there is a number of other places to visit such as the Museum of the world-renowned composer Antonín Dvořák, the famous Dancing House and the exquisite Botanic Garden of Charles’ University. If you want to go out for an evening stroll there is the Folimanka park, a former place of a farmhouse and vineyards. The area also includes the Christian International School of Prague.

Vinohrady

Vinohrady is a beautiful residential area of Prague. It is one of the most demanded locations because it carries a reputation of prestige and elegance. Vinohrady stretches over Prague 2, Prague 3, and Prague 10. It has a very diverse offer of properties from hundreds of years old apartment houses to new complexes such as Korunní Residence as well as a wide offer of different mansions and villas. There is easy accessibility to the city center attractions and to the marginal districts thanks to the subway and trams. All civic amenities are just a few steps away, including tens and dozens of shops, restaurants, cafes and institutions. Although it is located in the city center, Vinohrady still has some beautiful parks such as Riegrovy sady and Havlíčkovy sady. You can also find the monumental Church of St. Ludmila here, a neo-Gothic Roman Catholic church on Peace Square. The area is well equipped with a number of international schools and preschools such as Beehive International School, Bambíno Nurseries and Kindergartens, The Little Mole and Jingle Bells Preschool.

Words from our past clients

We have been cooperating with Philip & Frank brokers for a few years. Throughout that time it has been proved that it was a good choice. We are especially satisfied with their transparency and regular information about the progress of each project. At the same time we have always been in control of all decision-making. We will be happy to recommend them and their legal services to our friends and relatives. It was our pleasure warking with them.

Martin and Tereza K.

While we were selling our flat, we approached the brokers of Philip & Frank who had been recommended to us. I was really satisfied and delighted. Their truly professional approach – meetings with us, organization of tours of the flat with clients and arranging the formal aspects of the sale, including cooperation with an excellent lawyer – was astonishing. I appreciate their competence and I recommend this real estate agency to other clients.

Ludmila K.

Thanks to the professionalism of Philip & Frank real estate brokers I learned that even purchasing a property can be a pleasant experience. Their thoroughness, reliability, helpfulness and kindness enabled us to concentrate only on the property. We were relieved of all the worries regarding the purchase and we could simply enjoy buying the flat. That is what you dream of but I would never have thought that it could come true. Thank you for your perfect services!
